Block Dolls, PPG, KH, Spongebob

Each year for Yule (Winter Solstice) my wife, daughters and I exchange handmade gifts after dinner.

A few years ago I decided to make "Dolls" with some small wooden balls and blocks I had around (and some glass beads from my wife). I spent hours building and painting each one, trying to make them perfect.

Of course the girls loved them, so much so, they asked me to make more.

The top two photos are of the original Yule gifts...I gave the youngest (at the time) the three Powerpuff Girls, and our oldest got the Professor, Mojo Jojo (his little hat even comes off to reveal his brain) and a blank set so she could make her own.

I made Axel and Roxas for my wife, complete with black leather robes and a keyblade for Roxas.


The bottom photo consists of a few more dolls my kids and I made about a month later.

I made Sora.

Namine was painted by my eldest and assembled by me.

Patrick Star was painted by my second eldest and assembled by me.

My eldest is responsible for Spongebob and Coraline as well.
teehe.....just too darn cute.

They are all made the same way, using 1/2" wooden cubes and balls that I had, paperclips, my wifes glass beads (for jewelry), acrylic paint, and yarn.
